D&D Announces New Campaign Book The Wild Beyond the Witchlight

Dungeons & Dragons is gearing up for its huge live event later in July and like previous years the company is teasing new books. The latest being The Wild Beyond the Witchlight – a core adventure book involving the Feywild.

Not much is known about The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. Typically Wizards of the Coast releases a snippet of information regarding their newest books but details remain as hidden as pixies, sprites, satyrs, and dryads – all fey creatures who call the Feywild home.

What we do know about the new book is it will feature new characters, monsters, mechanics, and story hooks. It is safe to assume that characters will be venturing to the Feywild. But what exactly is the Feywild?

The Feywild

The Feywild mirrors the Material Plane but twists landmarks to be more fantastical and wild in design. What may be a volcano in one might appear as a crystal mountain in the land of the fey. As for fey, they are beings of magic and nature. Pixies, satyr, hags, fomorians, and eladrin – elves that shift to match the seasons – all call the Feywild home.

It’s both stunning and eerie. The sun never truly sets and the trees and forests are alive. There are no laws sas it is meant to be a depiction of nature itself. It’s wild and untamed and ruled by two queens: Queen Titania of the Summer Court with her seelie fey, and Queen of Air and Darkness and master of the Gloaming Court, leads the unseelie fey. Neither are good nor are they evil. Like nature they are chaotic.

The book was announced by bard Ellywick Tumblestrum – played by Erika Fermina. It’s all apart of WOTC’s Week of Legend Lore where they company will be looking at The book will release with two covers. A standard cover by Tyler Jacobsen and an alternate cover by Hydro74.

More information about The Wild Beyond the Witchlight will be revealed during this year’s D&D Live on July 16 and 17. The books release September 21, 2021.
